Events

During spring and summer, there are several traditional events on the island of Cres that showcase the local culture and heritage, including:


• Cres Cultural Summer: A series of cultural events, including concerts, theatre performances, and art exhibitions, held in various locations across the island from June to September.
• Creski Kaić – the Days of Cres Maritime Heritage and Tradition: A seven-day cultural, sporting and entertainment event that presents the importance of maritime and fishing heritage in preserving the island’s identity.
• Cres Sheep: Held each July in Orlec, the sheep exhibition features a sheep shearing competition and the best sheep breeder award presentation.
• Lubenice Musical Evenings: An international music festival held in the historic fort town of Lubenice with a series of classical concerts.
• Fishermen's Nights: Organized in coastal villages like Valun and MartinšÄ‡ica, these events celebrate the island's fishing heritage with seafood feasts, live music, and dancing by the sea. These traditional events offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage and vibrant community life of Cres during the spring and summer months. 

Sightseeing

1. Lubenice: Explore the ancient hilltop village of Lubenice, known for its stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and its well-preserved medieval architecture and centuries-old drywalls.
2. Cres Town: Get lost in Cres’ narrow and winding streets, where you can admire historic buildings and treat yourself to some gastronomic delights.
3. Blue Cave: Take a boat tour to the Blue Cave, a natural wonder known for its mesmerizing blue light and crystal-clear waters.
4. Beli Eco Centre: Visit the Beli Eco Centre to learn about the island’s rich biodiversity, conservation efforts and sustainable practices, and experience an eye-to-eye encounter with the griffon vulture. 
5. Cres Museum: Discover the island's fascinating history and culture at the Cres Museum, which showcases artefacts, exhibits, and multimedia presentations. 
6. Osor: Step back in time as you explore the ancient town of Osor, where you can see Roman ruins, medieval churches, and charming stone houses.
7. Valun: Relax on the beaches of Valun, a picturesque fishing village known for its tranquil atmosphere and scenic coastline.
8. Sv. Blaž Beach: Spend a day soaking up the sun at Tramuntana Beach, one of Cres Island's most beautiful and secluded spots, accessible only by boat or hiking trail.
9. Tramuntana: Spend a day of your holiday strolling in the mystical forests of Tramuntana, the northernmost part of the island, which is also the home of the local elf known as ‘macmalić’.
